Thing # 15
I found Rick Anderson's article "Away from the “icebergs”" interesting. He comments that his library has had a 55% drop in circulation. That makes sense for an academic library where research is the norm. I have noticed that the same thing applies for public libraries as well. The on-line information is more up to date and can be accessed from anywhere there is a computer. I don't see public library circulation going down though like it is in the academic libraries, because people will always want to read books. There is a big difference in reading for fun and researching.

Thing 14 - Technorati
This one is pretty neat. I liked going through the top blogs, top favored blogs and top searches. Some of the articles were really good information, but on the other hand some of them were pretty dumb. It is an easy site to navigate and I can see the uses for it. The number of blogs that it tracks each month is mind boggling. I can't figure out how so many people have time to do this on a regular basis. I must not be living right.
Del.icio.us
Naviagating Del.icio.us was easy. I can see where tagging has it's good points, but I'm not sure that I would use it myself. To me it is just as easy to bookmark what I like, although I know that I am not getting imput from others that way.

Week 5 # 12
http://www.rollyo.com/debhartman/. I have now set up my rollyo account. It's a good way to find web sites about a particular subject. I found several on scrapbooking that I was not aware of.
Week 5 # 11
I have now created a library thing account. Five authors have been added. These activites aren't as bad as I thought they would be. http://www.librarything.com/catalog/DebHartman
